What should I wear?
We’re calling it “Friday night casual,” but we can’t wait to see you no matter what you wear!
What's the parking situation at Ravenswood Event Center?
We encourage guests to take ride shares or public transportation. There may be some parking out front on Ravenswood and on nearby side streets, and typically there is also ample metered street parking on Irving Park.
What’s the difference between the online silent auction and the live auction?
The online silent auction is now open, and the bidding will close at approximately 9:30pm on March 8, the night of Raise the Sails. If you've purchased a ticket to Raise the Sails–NO NEED TO REGISTER TO BID–just use the link you received via text or email from Greater Giving to directly access your private bidding page. Lost your link? Our check-in team can resend when you arrive at Raise the Sails.
The live auction will take place during Raise the Sails at Ravenswood Event Center. Check out the “Live Auction” category in the Raise the Sails auction page for a preview of these items.
What happens if I win an auction item?
No need to carry home bulky items–we’ve got you! Simply dance your way home that night, and watch your email for a receipt of your winnings. Here's what you need to know about getting your auction items:
-
Many gift certificates can and will be delivered via email in the week following the event.
-
For items that can't be emailed, you can pick them up Monday, March 11, 3-6pm, inside the main door in the foyer of Amundsen -OR- as arranged with a Friends of Amundsen board member (we will reach out to you).
What’s Fund-A-Need?
Fund-A-Need is a straight donation to help Amundsen raise funds. This year, our Fund-A-Need hopes to raise $30,000 for a much needed upgrade in Amundsen’s shared technology. This includes 1) updating the projection and sound systems in the cafeteria so it can serve as a multi-purpose room to keep up with our ever-growing popularity, and 2) replacing malfunctioning video display monitors in Amundsen’s hallways, which students and staff rely on to broadcast school news and showcase student achievements and activities. Donors can give via online bidding or as part of the live Fund-A-Need event at Ravenswood Event Center.
